These AI artists are entirely generated by artificial intelligence, meaning their artwork, headshots, and biographies are all products of AI [3]. Alejandro is part of Mirage Gallery's core initiative to explore and showcase art created through artificial intelligence [2], [4].

Alejandro, as an AI-generated artist from Mirage Gallery, operates within a burgeoning field that merges artificial intelligence with creative expression [3], [4]. This positions Alejandro in a unique category, distinct from traditional human artists and even from other digital artists who use AI as a tool rather than being fully AI-generated entities [3]. Mirage Gallery's focus on AI artists, evolving art, and curated releases underscores its commitment to this niche, showcasing works that challenge the conventional boundaries of art [2], [3].
The emergence of AI artists like Alejandro reflects a broader trend in the digital landscape where AI is increasingly capable of autonomous creative output [3], [4]. This differs from platforms like Serenade, which initially focused on NFTs and later pivoted to physical 'smart formats' after its acquisition by Vinyl Group [15], [16]. While Serenade facilitated the distribution of digital music assets, Alejandro represents the creation of digital art itself by artificial intelligence [15], [19]. This distinction highlights the evolving nature of digital creation and distribution, with AI artists pushing the boundaries of what constitutes an artist and how art is generated [3], [4], [15].
